Street Car Showdown

Close to 4,000 spectators are expected this month at the 16th annual Ride the Dream Car Show in Staples. The show is hosted by the Still Cruisin’ Car Club of Staples.

Staples acting police chief, said the goal would be to have more than 700 hot rods, custom cars, muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles at the event. 

Among the cars expected at the show are a No. 16 Ford Fusion C.O.T. Car from NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, driven by Greg Biffle and sponsored by 3M. 

The show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at Staples Elementary School at 1025 Fourth Street  NE. Vendors and concessions will be on the grounds as well as disc jockey playing “cool classic tunes.”
